"LOV, the new autumn-winter 2011-2012 film directed by Stephanie Di Gusto.
After Lou Doillon, there is the appearance of a another heroine: Kate Bosworth. Her mysteriousness, her strength. Also another side to femininity, a stirring truthfulness which is renewed with every look, every movement accompanied by a wisp of assertiveness and purity. A new gracefulness progressing to a confident allure, conquering, a battling frailty.
It starts with an urban universe almost futuristic where this femininity comes up against angles, up against emptiness where lines are sought for and where poetry is found. A surrealistic dance, frantic and lively giving a light note to this ballad, this adventure which is perhaps the landscape of a soul.
Then the thread of the tale gets tenser. We come across a more solemn Kate, looking inwards, a mysterious warrior. Kate runs away, frightened by her dark double, perhaps her mirror reflection, perhaps her sister in dreams. White horses bolt with the music, liberating her wildness and the impatient purity of her energy, of her victory.
Euphoria of flight, of a grace released from the surface, from reality. Light headed. Kate is at the top of a tree of life giving herself up to an appeasing sun, to a sensual rapture winging towards the heart of the matter, streaming along, a reflection on the water.
In fact, a love story."

I love it when brands create videos to complement the launch of a new season, they really help to encapsulate the vision of the collecion. I'd never heard of LOV before but after seeing this video I am definitely intruiged to see more. I'm heading to Paris to visit my parents in December so I'll hopefully be able to check it out over there.

Reading homework I'd set myself this weekend. I love fashion books. At the moment I'm reading "In Fashion" by Annemarie Iverson. Its a really great book if you're thinking about pursuing a career of any form within the fashion industry. I think it is mainly aimed at high school students but I've found it informative nonetheless. If you've read Kelly Cutrone's "If You Have To Cry, Go Outside" and enjoyed it then I would recommend her second book, "Normal Gets You Nowhere". It is less about the fashion industry and more about Kelly's life mantra, but if you're a fan of hers then I'm sure you'll love it regardless!

The September issues of my favourite magazines - Vogue, Harper's Bazaar & Russh. This months Russh is themed around "Out of this world" and some of the concepts of packing up and exploring the unknown have really hit a nerve with me. I've made at least five different life decisions while in the shower today!

After a stressful week, I finally decided to treat myself to the Sex & The City box set. This is what I will be doing all weekend while dreaming of moving to Paris & eBaying majority of my wardrobe. I need to start drawing again...

I'm a 22 year old Fashion Assistant located in Australia. The purpose of this blog is to not only share images and information I find inspirational but to also document my personal movement from a hungry consumer of fast fashion to a cautious and considerate fashion buyer. I am hoping to educate myself on specific facets of the industry and in doing so, creating a higher level of appreciation of the marriage between creativity and great quality craftsmanship.
