Maybe this is just a facade

I'm having one of those days where you just walk around with a heavy heart. Not fun. I don't think it helped that I watched the first half of the movie "Veronika decides to die" last night. It wasn't exactly what you would call 'uplifting', however I do hear the second half is a lot more upbeat so I think I shall complete it tonight. Only 5 days until I head overseas to Europe. Lets just keep thinking of that..

Missing In Action

Wow, I have been MIA for a lot longer than I thought I was. Sincere apologies. It seems that I have been bogged down in the little things in life lately. I got a promotion and have been doing a hybrid role until my replacement starts on Monday (woo!) so fingers crossed things get a little more sane after that.

I have also been eBaying like crazy again, so time consuming but so worth it since it i has helped me put some more cash towards my Europe fund. I only have 3 and a half weeks until I leave to visit my parents in Paris. So excited! It feels fantastic to get rid of a lot of items in my wardrobe that continually made me feel guilty for not wearing them. Plus it is great to be able to concentrate on creating a more chic and fuss-free wardrobe which is where my style is evolving towards. If I could live in my Zara silk shirt (same as the fourth image from the bottom), skinny jeans, heels and blazer then I would!

I was going to head out to either St Kilda or South Yarra tonight but the weather in Melbourne is horrible, so staying at home watching The Bourne Identity (my favourite) won. My doggie is snuggling up to me and we're listening to the rain outside. Bliss.

01.11.Hello November

Hello November! Second last month of 2011, so please be good! This also means that I need to start increasing my savings for Europe next month! My target is to raise another $2,000 and I went shopping crazy this weekend so now I need to do a massive eBay session of old stuff to raise some more cash. Luckily I did quite well on the Melbourne Cup today and won some money on Dunaden and Under The Eiffel, only $100 but every little bit counts! I will upload my new purchases when I get around to photographing them. Hope everyone else got lucky today!

 Sorry for being so MIA. I have had the busiest two weeks, including my family visiting from Paris and my graduation. Plus, so few things are inspiring me at the moment. You could say I am in a bit of a rut. Back to normal soon.

Olivia Palermo Blog

As many of you are probably aware, Oliviapalermo.com is up and running. Its actually not bad and lets face it, even if it was terrible, I'd still read it. There is one thing about it that I just can't quite put my finger on, perhaps the writing seems a little.. contrived? Apparently there are other contributing writers though, its not just all Olivia... but I just keep remembering that episode of The City where Olivia and Whitney have to do that presentation at DVF and Olivia chokes. I literally read her blog with that voice inside of my head. Although to be honest, if I have heard a bloggers voice before then I can't help but read their blog with their voice narrating it all inside my head. Is that weird? Anyways, the main point is that her style is awesome and therefore this is another excuse to post a million photos of her - enjoy!

I spent most of today not really feeling like myself.. it has been a little odd but I suppose we all have days like that though! I have a huge desire to go and shop up a storm lately, there are so many things I am lusting after. I must be good though! There is so much work still to do on my wardrobe and a million samples at work that I want to buy, not to mention that my next trip to Europe is only 10 weeks away! I can't believe how quickly it is creeping up, it feels like I only got back from my last trip in July a few weeks ago. My credit card is now safely tucked away where I cannot get to it for impulse buys, lets hope it stays there!

I am spending the rest of my evening watching Amelie - magnifique movie! I have three more French films to watch as I have just rediscovered the 'world cinema' section of my local Blockbuster.
